Correct, I had ASC5 installed and SMART RAM manager in Auto mode, I disabled the Auto Smart RAM and my copy-paste problem was SOLVED.Thanks for this Info. When did the issue first occur? It was actually pretty convenient timing as I had just built a new machine, and went ahead and reloaded from scratch the other 3 which had been running sincemyWin7 RTM packages Delete the Skype add-in in IE and Firefox and the "cannot clear clipboard" error after a drag and drop goes away when IE and/or Firefox are running. however my mistake was in thinking it was the quick clean or deep clean check box...
