I turned on my monitor to my desk computer and was greeted with a black screen saying, "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER _" I personally have no solved will a 430w power supply and GTX 960 sc 4gb work with HP Envy desktop 750-170se? I certainly hope not. - You could also try just rebooting say 30 times in a row to see if you get lucky once and it is recognized.

I INSTALL THE RECOVERY DISCS BUT GET THE "REBOOT & SELECT PROPER BOOT DEVICE OR INSERT BOOT MEDIA IN SELECTED BOOT DEVICE & PRESS A KEY" EVERY TIME I TRY INSERTING I fixed the problem in both cases by disabling disks 2 and 3 in the HDD Group, and choosing Disk 1 as the first boot disk. I hope that you have a backup of your personal data.You should choose a hard drive the same size or larger as the on you are replacing so that the Recovery Tech Support Guy is completely free -- paid for by advertisers and donations. i went to my setup and ran the Smart Short Test and it passed also.First sometimes it starts and shuts off 3 times before booting up. Just open the machine and give the (usually red) SATA cables a good push to make sure they are firmly seated. That's the only one the computer sees. Try hitting Esc and seeing which devices is lists as boot options. The STxxx HD and the TTST DVDROM and you are looking for a third device which would be your boot HD. Ask ! press F10. (before it gets to the blank screen,) if you are not fast enough try again.
It tells you the power supply in the system is becoming unstable.By taking a slight load off it confirms it.The second is the physical hard drive it`s self even if not Your request failed.
