- Most of the time they will still show up in the bios but will require data recovery methods similar to the ones above because you cannot boot from them.

I had tried putting it in the freezer, but it was 120 GB drive…so it would heat up and crash before I was able to complete the copying process.

It's possible that Lenovo will put Windows back on it for you anyway.
Best thing is to back up your data regularly.
